Lent happens
every year on Wednesday at the month of February (Ash Wednesday) to April. It
is the 40 days from Ash Wednesday to the Saturday before Easter. It is a time
for personal reflection that prepares people’s heart and minds for Good Friday and
Easter.

The first day of
lent is the Ash Wednesday where people have black ash on their forehead. It
symbolizes our grief for everything that we have done wrong.
Maundy Thursday commemorates the night before
Jesus died. Good Friday is when Christians learn by heart that Jesus’ death was
a sacrifice for us to receive God’s forgiveness. Jesus sacrificed himself to
stand the punishments for all our mistakes and bad behavior and offer us
forgiveness. He sacrificed himself for us. And, on the Easter Sunday, Jesus Christ
have risen and gives us a new opportunity to have faith in God eternally.

“Thus says the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in
his riches: but let him that glories glory in this, that he understands and
knows Me, that I am the LORD which exercise loving-kindness, judgment,
and righteousness, in the earth: for
in these things I delight, says the LORD” (Jeremiah,
9:23-24).
