A Little Consideration

 

Because of this pandemic DepEd and CHED were forced to do the modular learning and online learning for the students because face-to-face classes are not allowed. But, many are not in favor in dealing with this. Since the classes have resumed, it has not been easy for us, students struggle to keep up in this kind of learning strategy. Therefore, students have been asking/wishing for an academic freeze but sadly, DepEd disapproves.

Modular and Online learning actually has its advantages. Students who has a stable internet connection can easily access their lessons and their given tasks. By this kind of learning, students are much aware of their responsibilities not just as a kid but also as a student because the students are in control of their pace in terms of accomplishing their tasks. Unfortunately, its disadvantages overpower its advantages. Not all students has the same level of

intelligence, others may not be able to study by themselves, and of course they need someone who can educate them to understand their lessons more. 

Also, this kind of learning requires access to the internet and gadgets. For example, teachers give activities through online and when a student needs more information we all know that google is the only way to look for more information. But not all of the students can afford these, that leads to some students lacking some learning materials. In addition, students might learn nothing at all.

            Classes already started but, many students are still looking for ‘Academic Freeze’. I have been seeing many students on social media that are complaining, saying that they are all drained and messed up. And there’s this one thing that I saw, a student who took his life because his professor did not give him a chance to pass his work. In conclusion, instead of learning, students only suffered from health and mental issues.
